These have been in my inbox for a while. Some may be a few weeks old. I have a couple of video clips too, but I need to wait for Andrew’s help to post those. Enjoy!

a visit with Oliver

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Ingrid and I came to visit Oliver this past week. He looks better than ever. I’m trying to think of what to report but there isn’t really much new information. Oliver is still crawling super fast, and standing with the help of furniture. Mom says sometimes he lets go briefly, but he’s not standing on his own yet. He needs to strengthen his legs some before he’ll be ready to walk. He’s saying some words and using his sign language well. It’s kind of all typical stuff going on with him. Claudia is enjoying very much that he’s off all medicines. Dr. Rosenthal says they’ll continue to monitor Oliver’s heart function (next appointment is early February). He noted a slight decrease at their appointment at the beginning of this month, and when/if it reaches a specific value, they’ll perform an MRI (I think that’s what Claudia said) on his heart to get more information on what is going on exactly. After that, they’ll decide what is the next step. I don’t know what happened with the membrane, but it doesn’t seem to be the most critical thing anymore. Claudia says Dr. R was pleased with Oliver’s growth. The appointment helped Claudia to validate that her own assessment of Oliver’s health was accurate- he really is doing very well right now.

We had lots of fun watching Oliver play with his Halloween chicken and petting his Chica doggie.
